Who are you?
- Bachelors or Masters Degree in one of the following:
- Psychology
- Social Work
- Counseling Education
- Human Services field.
- Licensed in the state of Delaware as one of the following:
- Clinical Social Worker
- Mental Health Counselor
- National Board Certified Counselor
- MSW
- Professional Counselor.
- Preferred:
- Proficiency in work documentation and ability to integrate technology into instructional delivery.
- Exceptional intercommunication skills, management, organization, planning, leadership, and technical skills.
- Outstanding ability to motivate and build relationships with students and their family to promote student achievement and strengthen community partnerships.
- CPI: Training in Crisis Prevention and Intervention (CPI) or participate in training within 6 months of hire.
What will you do?
- IEPs: Provide individual and group treatment as it relates to educational functioning and Individualized Education Program (IEP) goals. Demonstrated knowledge of the development and implementation of Functional Behavior Assessments (FBA)/Behavior Improvement Plans (BIP) and Individualized Education Plans (IEP). Participate as a member of the IEP team for students receiving services.
- Support: Provide therapeutic classroom support which may include observation of students and staff consultation. Provide family treatment/support services as needed to improve/maintain educational functioning. These services may include short-term family therapy, family liaison and home visits. Provide crisis intervention as it pertains to educational performance. Intervention may include family and/or interagency involvement, Child Mental Health, Division of Family Service, Youth Rehabilitative Service, Interagency Collaborative Team, Family Court, and other mental health agencies. Provide referrals to and collaborate with mental health agencies. Provide families with information regarding behavioral management strategies. Provide consultation and training to school staff on behavioral management strategies.
- Connect: Serve as a liaison for psychiatric and medication management. Serve as a liaison between families, students, community agencies and the schools.
- Document: Collect and maintain documentation, data related to FBAs, BIPs, Treatment Notes, individual student calm room logs and documentation of parent contacts. Obtain pre- and post-measurements and data to evaluate program efficiency.
